The Slimline II aluminum roof rack for G-Wagens is engineered with modern vehicle design in mind and it offers strength, lightness and aerodynamics unmatched by any other roof rack in the industry.  with the unique patented locking slat system, all accessories and everything else you decide to put on the rack can be bolted to the flat slats.  This provides the most convenient solution for rattle free, secure, and safe travel. The slats of the rack have t-slots on both sides, allowing the fitment of accessories (see list of accessories at the bottom of this page) to the underside of the rack as well.  The legs also take advantage of the t-slots, allowing flexible choices for positioning the rack on the rooftop.   The legs bolt onto the t-slots in the rack, and firmly secure the rack to the roof top by clamping on to the vehicle’s gutter. The slats are framed within the front, rear and side double-walled aluminum profiles, creating what Front Runner refers to as the “tray” (the flat portion of the rack without the mounting legs).

Front Runner offers a choice of leg height (standard vs. tall) and rack tray lenth (3/4 length vs. full). The “tall” leg height creates greater space between the rack tray and the rooftop so you can opt to include the Under Rack Storage Slides and several other accessories. Tall legs also give more room for the sunroof door. Note that the standard legs can interfere with sunroofs, with which all US models come. The 3/4 length rack works with long wheel base (LWB) & short wheel base (SWB) G-wagens. The full length rack fits LWB.

IMPORTANT: Please select your leg height carefully because “standard” legs can interfere with sunroofs, with which all US models come. for more considerations on leg height selection, see below.

 
IMPORTANT: A “standard” leg height may not offer the clearance needed for sunroofs, with which all US models come. In such a instance, you may have to select “tall” legs. As you determine which leg height to select, please also take into account any clearance you may need for entryways/garage door openings. To know your G-Wagen’s clearance, measure its existing height from the ground to its rain gutter. To that measurement, add 240mm (a little bit more than 9-7/16″). That is, 190mm (tall leg height) + 50 mm (height of the roof rack tray). for short legs, it’s 220mm (a little less than 8-11/16″). Your clearance may change very slightly with an increase in tire pressure. More significant clearance changes will obviously occur with modifications like changing the size of your tires, adding a lift to your G-Wagen, or any other obvious modifications that would increase/decrease clearance.

Baja Rack Rear Ladder

High-quality rack, similar to the OEM Mercedes PUR 30 ladder, but it attaches to the roof gutter, and not the roof rack itself.  Therefore, it can be used on any vehicle, with any rack.

The bottom of the ladder mounts directly to the frame, and then clamps to the roof gutter.  There is no need to drill into the vehicle!
