Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG Gets 4×4² Conversion with Portal Axle Upgrade
The Mercedes-Benz G550 4×4² was one of the most insane vehicles you could buy off the lot in 2017 and 2018. Mercedes took the most unique and distinctive SUV on the road today, and made it into a monster. The sheer size of the 4×4 Squared makes you chuckle as you think, “Mercedes made this?” With over 17″ of ground clearance, With a parking-garage-scraping height of 88.0″, width of 86.20″, and ground clearance over 17″, this 6700-lb beast has a presence you can’t deny. The only problem with the G550 4×4² is that it’s not an AMG model.
That’s where our customers step in. They start with a G55 AMG, G63 AMG, or G65 AMG, and then select a couple dozen products from our W463 menu. This vehicle got a portal axle conversion, 4″ suspension lift, genuine beadlock wheels, and few other things to make it a serious off-roader. The customer decided to delete the spare tire carrier, like the 4×4², since he’ll be adding a spare on the roof rack.
We added some a few exterior touches to give this Gwagen a more custom look. For example, the carbon fiber hood attachment, front lip spoiler with LEDs, carbon fiber D-pillar vents, and gloss black trim set this vehicle apart. The only thing more noticeable than the huge carbon fiber fender flares on the exterior is the roof rack and ladder; rugged looking, but also functional.
