Mercedes-AMG Unveils Exclusive ‘Grand Edition’ G 63 and Mercedes-Benz Introduces Limited ‘Final Edition’ G 500
Mercedes-Benz, the renowned German luxury automaker, is offering two enticing options for off-road enthusiasts: the G 63 ‘Grand Edition’ limited to only 1,000 units worldwide and the G 500 ‘Final Edition’ commemorating the 30th anniversary of the V8 engine’s introduction to the G series, with 1,500 units available.
Let’s start with the exciting details. The Mercedes-Benz G 500 ‘Final Edition’ is a limited series crafted to celebrate three decades of the V8 engine in G-Class models. Back in 1993, Mercedes-Benz introduced the V8-powered 500 GE, a small production series model. The anniversary model boasts a 3,982 cc displacement and a remarkable rated output of 310 kW (415 hp/421 ps). True enthusiasts will easily recognize its unique features, including the exclusive Manufacture leather package.
Additionally, the G 500 ‘Final Edition’ comes in a selection of three captivating colors: obsidian black, Manufacture opalith white magno, and olive magno. Each color variant is limited to just 500 units offered to retailers. Emmerich Schiller, Chairman of the Managing Board of Mercedes-Benz G GmbH and Head of the Off-Road Vehicle Division at Mercedes-Benz, explains, “The Final Edition is our 30th birthday gift for the G 500, which in 1993 was considered the trendsetter and harbinger of the high-end off-roader in the luxury class. With its exclusive equipment details, the limited special model is also a fitting parting gift from the V8 biturbo engine in the G 500.” Noteworthy features of the limited series include 20-inch AMG wheels, ‘Final Edition’ lettering, Superior Line equipment, and more. The European price for this remarkable vehicle starts at 196,350 euros, equivalent to over $215,170 based on the current exchange rate.
Shifting our attention to Mercedes-AMG, the high-performance division from Affalterbach, they present the G 63 ‘Grand Edition,’ an even more exclusive offering with only 1,000 units available worldwide. Since its introduction in 2002, the AMG version of the G-Class has captivated off-road enthusiasts with its exceptional performance. The ‘Grand Edition’ comes with distinctive features and contrasting exterior colors, accentuating the iconic design elements of this off-road vehicle. The main exterior theme, Manufacture Night Black Magno, is complemented by gold-colored details that exude a vintage ambiance. Even the AMG logo and the Mercedes star proudly showcase Kalahari Gold Magno accents.
The 22-inch AMG forged wheels feature Tech Gold with a matte black central locking nut, while the AMG Indoor Car Cover boasts a custom design. Inside the cabin, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Grand Edition” delights with G Manufaktur black Nappa leather seats adorned with gold stitching, among other exquisite details. Now, it’s time to brace yourself for the pricing impact – the ‘Grand Edition’ of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 can be ordered in Europe at a starting price of 228,896.40 euros, approximately $251,000.
