Mansory Unleashes a Stunning Coach Door Edition of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4²

Mansory is known for its audacious designs, but occasionally, the tuner delivers a positively surprising masterpiece. This time, they’ve transformed the Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4² into a striking beast that stands out for all the right reasons.

At first glance, the black color dominating the exterior might obscure the typical Mansory enhancements. However, a closer look reveals a series of modifications: attachments at both ends, a pronounced hood, a roof-mounted wing, and a custom spare wheel holder.

The 22-inch wheels, although seemingly more suitable for a Rolls-Royce or a Mercedes-Maybach, complement the aggressive design of the G 63 4×4². Fortunately, Mansory avoided using thin rubber band tires, preserving the vehicle’s rugged look and off-road capabilities.

A standout feature of this edition is the coach doors. By moving the rear door hinges from the B-pillar to the C-pillar and repositioning the handles, Mansory has given this 4×4 a Rolls-Royce-like touch. While the interior may not match the opulence of a Goodwood-manufactured vehicle, it is undeniably eye-catching, unlike some of Mansory’s more controversial projects.

Inside, Mansory has utilized black Alcantara with orange piping and custom embossing. This luxurious material covers most interior components, including the dashboard, center console, seats, and steering wheel. Orange metallic accents add to the vehicle’s interior transformation, complemented by Mansory’s signature touches, such as the “One of Ten” inscription on the center console, emphasizing the edition’s exclusivity.

The standard Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4² features a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine, similar to the regular Mercedes-AMG G 63. However, Mansory’s version offers a significant power boost. The tuner claims an output of 850 horsepower (likely European), which translates to 838 brake horsepower (625 kilowatts) and 738 pound-feet (1,000 Newton meters) of torque.

This is a considerable increase from the stock model’s 577 horsepower (585 PS/430 kW) and 627 pound-feet (850 Nm) of torque. The standard engine pairs with a 9-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The regular G 63 can reach a top speed of 137 mph (220 kph) and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 kph) in 4.5 seconds. The larger and heavier G 63 4×4² is slower, but with Mansory’s performance upgrades, it likely comes close to matching the standard G 63’s performance.

We appreciate the Mansory-tuned Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4². While the rear suicide doors might be a bit much for some, the overall project remains tasteful, steering clear of the excessive styling often seen in Mansory’s other builds. What are your thoughts on this bold transformation?
