Best 4-inch Lift Kits for Mercedes G-class W463
Mercedes started the craze with a 3-axled behemoth known as the 6×6 AMG. Despite a price tag of more than $500,000, and nowhere to park it, over 100 6×6’s were sold — many of them getting the BRABUS treatment prior to delivery. If you weren’t one of the lucky few to get your hands on the 6×6 AMG, the first time you heard Mercedes would be making a 2-axle version of the beast, known as the G 500 4×4², you most likely began to salivate (like we did).
Now, thanks to the 6×6 AMG, the G 500 4×4², and the G 550 4×4² in the U.S., it seems like everyone with a G-class wants a lift kit and bigger tires! That’s great news for us, but one small problem…this is a new segment of the market and there aren’t too many “complete” lift kits like there are for Jeep, Ford, and Chevrolet. At this time, here are your best 4-inch lift kit options…
Springs
We carry longer springs from ARB and Eibach. The ARB Springs are approximately 50mm longer than stock and you can select a spring rate for the front springs, based on whether or not you have the OEM brush guard/bull bar. The Eibach Springs are good for a 40-50mm lift, so in theory, they might not sit as high as the ARB Springs, but then again, results have varied across vehicles with both brands. While most customers prefer the Eibach name (they make the OEM springs on most G-class models that we have seen), we would go with the ARB Springs in the hope to get a little more height (especially in the front where some of these cars seem to sit too low).

Shocks
The ARB Springs are specifically designed to work with the OME Shocks (ARB’s sister company is Old Man Emu), but many customers want a more heavy-duty shock, or an adjustable shock. You can pair the ARB or Eibach Springs with shocks from Fox, KING, Öhlins, or RENNtech.

Spring Spacers
As of today, there are a few springs that are 40-50mm longer, but nothing to give you a 100mm (4 inch) lift. Therefore, we are coupling a 50mm Spring Spacer, with longer springs, to get a 4″ lift. Admittedly, at first, it seemed unconventional to use a spring spacer, but so far, we haven’t seen any drawback. With that said, we heard DTD is coming out with a 4″ longer spring, paired with longer shocks. We look forward to testing that set up.

Steering Stabilizer Bar Shock
With much larger and heavier tires, we recommend upgrading the Steering Stabilizer Bar Shock. We have applications from Fox and KING.

Wheels Spacers
Depending on the tire size you are running, and your wheel offset, you may need wheel spacers to move the tire away from the brake caliper or the radius arm (at full lock).
