AMG G 63 Pays Homage to Australian Snow (and Other Surfaces) With a $28K Limited Edition

Australia and snow – this combination might seem improbable unless you are an Australian, a geography enthusiast, or someone who enjoys sharing unique trivia at parties. Common lore often depicts Australia as a vast, arid desert teeming with dangerous wildlife. Snow, on the other hand, conjures images of icy landscapes and ski resorts. Yet, Australia defies these stereotypes. It claims a significant portion of Antarctica and hosts the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales, which receive an impressive average of over six feet of snowfall annually. This snowy backdrop now serves as the inspiration for an exclusive variant of the Mercedes-AMG G 63.

Mercedes-Benz has introduced the G 63 Elements Edition, a limited-edition model available in six distinct themes, each reflecting the diverse terrains the G-Class has conquered since its debut in 1979. These themes are expressed through unique exterior colors and upholstery schemes previously unseen in the Australian market. The G 63 Elements Edition elevates the standard G 63 with bespoke features such as 22-inch AMG five-spoke forged wheels in a matte black finish and cherry wood floorboards in the trunk.

The Elements Edition is not just about aesthetics; it also includes advanced features like the Logo package, which projects “G – Stronger Than Time” onto the ground when the front doors open. The “G” logo embossed on the doorknob serves as a subtle reminder of the vehicle’s heritage and capability.

This edition is packed with luxury and performance enhancements. It includes AMG Night Packages, carbon fiber elements, perforated Nappa leather seats with diamond stitching, a Burmester surround sound system, a sliding glass sunroof, and interior air ionization. The steering wheel is wrapped in carbon fiber and DINAMICA microfiber, designed to enhance grip during high-performance driving. The Performance Package increases the top speed to 240 kph and features a carbon fiber cover for the 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine.

Buyers can select from six unique themes for their G 63 Elements Edition. The WATER theme features vintage blue non-metallic paint and a choice of plain black or yacht blue and black leather interior. DESERT showcases Kalahari gold mango over titanium grey pearl and black leather, with optional gold contrast stitching. GRAVEL offers a classic grey exterior paired with platinum white and black leather. The FOREST theme combines deep green with espresso brown and black leather, or an all-black interior with bronze seams. TARMAC features a night black magno exterior with Bengal red and black leather, with red stitching available for an all-black interior. Finally, SNOW pairs opalite white magno paint with platinum white and black leather, or a black-only interior with white stitching.

The G 63 Elements Edition is priced at $28,000 AUD above the base G 63 model. This price includes the Goods and Services Tax and the Luxury Car Tax but excludes on-road costs and dealer delivery fees. Orders for this limited-edition model can be placed starting June 19. To get Drive-Away pricing, prospective buyers are advised to contact their local Mercedes-Benz sales representative, as fees and costs vary based on local laws and regulations.

In summary, the G 63 Elements Edition is a testament to Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to blending luxury, performance, and exclusivity. By paying homage to Australia’s diverse landscapes, this special edition allows owners to celebrate their unique environment while enjoying the unmatched capability of the iconic G-Class.
